The North Carolina State University Department of Chemistry has developed is an application of a naturally occurring protein construction that has a diameter of in the size range of 35-40 nanometers. This construction has a dynamic transition that allows loading of drugs and targeted release in cells. Important features include cell-specific targeting, controlled release and nuclear targeting within the cell.
